Trustee - Martyn Gowar MA FTII TEP FRSA

Martyn GowarEducated at Kings' College School, Wimbledon and Magdalen College Oxford, where he read Jurisprudence.

Admitted as a solicitor in 1970. Became partner in Lawrence Graham on 1st January 1973 and was appointed Senior Partner from 1st May 1997. Became an Associate of the Institute of Taxation in 1976 and a Fellow in 1981 winning the Institute Thesis Prize that year.

Member of the Capital Taxes Sub-Committee of the Technical Committee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Secretary of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, a Member of the International Bar Association, a Council Member of the Addington Society and a Member of the International Committee of STEP (the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners).

Apart from being Senior Partner, is essentially a private client tax lawyer dealing with large landed estates, or trusts. He is Clerk to the Trustees of the Hamlyn Trust (an educational charity) and to the Governor's of Wellington College and is on the Council of St Paul's Cathedral School.

Member of the "In&Out" Club. Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and member of The Guild of Tax Advisers.

Interests include golf, music, cricket and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
